Inter-MFNSS Mathfest Wins

MFNSS celebrates the inaugural Inter-MFNSS Mathfest, where seven of the system’s schools joined in two days of math celebration and games at West St. Paul Access Centre this May 20 and 21. Much like individual school Mathfests, the Inter-MFNSS Mathfest challenges students with games and activities infused with numeracy learning. Students from all participating schools were challenged with archery, structure-building, cup-stacking, darts, and sorting games, Lu Playground, and Quiz Bee with numeracy challenges incorporated. Celebrations at the event's conclusion awarded students who demonstrated excellent numeracy skills in the final Quiz Bee, for a handmade on-theme school banner, and more interactive challenges.

MFNSS commends the teamwork, sportsmanship and hard work of all student competitors and school math leads. School math leads were instrumental at the Inter-MFNSS Mathfest in working with numeracy facilitators to design gameplay, run the activity stations and chaperone their students.
