1st Annual Spelling Bee Success
This April 28, viewers tuned in to MFNERC livestream from home and from school to catch the excitement of MFNSS’ first spelling bee. The Spelling Bee, led by Literacy Facilitators Tiffany Cote and Evelyn Cameron, saw turnout from George Saunders Memorial School, Keeseekoowenin School, Lake Manitoba School, Lawrence Sinclair Memorial School, Miskooseepi School, Pinaymootang School, Obushkudayang Anishinaabe School, and Sergeant Tommy Prince School. School teams faced off on stage, each with two minutes to spell a word delivered by the panel of judges. In later rounds, teams had 30 seconds to spell their more challenging words. This suspenseful event came to a close with Obushkudayang Anishinaabe School of Lake St. First Nation in the lead.
