5th Annual MFNSS Softball Tournament
Rain could not slow down Manitoba First Nations students as the 5th Annual MFNSS Softball Tournament kicked off the morning of September 11, 2025. After being delayed from June due to poor air quality caused by the harsh fire season, students from the northern and southern areas of the province were raring to bat.
This fall, participating teams were MFNERC partnered schools: Chemawewin School, Chief Sam Cook Mahmuwee Education Centre, and Long Plain School. Teams from MFNSS were George Saunders Memorial School, Ginew School, Keeseekowenin School, Lawrence Sinclair Memorial School, Lake Manitoba School, Mahpiya Hdega School, Pinaymootang School, and Sergeant Tommy Prince School.
The tournament winners are, Chief Sam Cook Education Centre in second, and Chemawewin School in first. MFNSS commends the excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, and athleticism of all participants.
