Vision / Mission

School Vision

The Vision of Fox Lake School is to establish a community of learners through positive relationships, Cree culture and enriching programing: one student at a time.

School Mission

The Mission of the Fox Lake School is to use our traditional Cree values in support of students to achieve academic excellence, personal success and live a good life.

Background:

A new school for Fox Lake Cree Nation was completed in 2005 and serves 24-27 students from Nursery to Grade 8 and the MFNSS School system also provides partial services for approximately 19 high School students who are bused daily to Gillam High School. Part of the school’s mission is to encourage parents to participate in all school activities such as the science fair and other annual gatherings. One of Fox Lake School’s special projects that involves students, staff and community members is the annual Goose Hunt. The hunt proudly showcases the school’s commitment to fostering cultural pride in students and families, while encouraging students to explore and integrate their culture, heritage and language.
